How the Drivers Ed Online Course Works

Driver's Ed Online via LaptopCantor’s Driving School’s 30 hour online driver education training program is a great way to prepare you for your driver’s test. Approved by the PA Department of Education, it provides you with the maximum in flexibility.

The course is divided into nine chapters covering different important driving topics. Each chapter has a review and a quiz to make sure you’ve gained the knowledge you need from that section. After completing these nine chapters, you need only to take and pass the 40 question final exam – and you’re done!

When you’ve completed the course we will mail you a certificate of completion that you can present to your insurance company. We will also send you a copy of Pennsylvania form DL-59, the application to change from a junior license to a regular one.


Online Drivers Education Details

This driver’s education program consist of at least 30 hours of drivers education instruction online, with special features in the form of videos, PDF documents, and websites added to enhance the understanding and learning abilities of students. The modules comprised of topic matters that will provide students with the skills necessary to obtain a Pennsylvania driver’s license and most importantly, to become conscientious drivers.

A student taking this course will be required to spend a specific minimum time in each topic, at the end of which, the student will be required to pass a quiz based on that topic, with a passing mark of 75%. The student is required to spend a total of at least 30 hours for the whole duration of the course, after which, the student will be required to pass a final examination with a score mark of at least 75% before the student is issued a Certificate of Completion. Please note that Pennsylvania teens below the age of 18 are required to complete 65 hours of supervised experience behind the wheel when they are in possession of a Learner’s Permit. Teens below the age of 18 can only apply for a Pennsylvania senior driver’s license if they have completed a 30 hour approved driver education course and 6 hours behind the wheel driver training. If they have not completed a 30 hours driver’s education, they have to wait until they are 18 years of age to apply for a full driver’s license without any operational restrictions.

When you apply for a Pennsylvania driver’s license, you will be required to present a completed Penn DOT DL 59 application form as proof of completion of this course and driver’s training. The dates and times of your behind-the-wheel experiences should be noted in a log as they occur.
